COILY HAIR
SHAPE: springy, tight, type 4 hair, type 3 hair, S Shape
Coily hair can be described as tightly-packed corkscrew curls that provide volume with ease. Extra moisture is necessary for tangle-free, soft and defined coils.
4A
Type 4A curls have S-shaped coils that are prone to shrinkage.
CURLY HAIR
SHAPE: bouncy, springy, ringlets, type 3 hair, frizzy
Curly hair strands can be fine, medium or thick. These corkscrew curls tend to be loose and bouncy. Dryness leads to frizz, so moisture is key to maintaining definition & shine.
3B Hair
Each strand approximately the width of sidewalk chalk.
3C Hair
These curls are smaller in diameter compared to 3B, roughly the width of a pencil or straw.
WAVY HAIR
SHAPE: bouncy, springy, ringlets, type 2 hair, frizzy
Wavy hair strands can be fine, medium or thick. These S-shaped strabds tend to be loose and described as beach waves. Dryness leads to frizz, so moisture is key to maintaining definition & shine.
2B Hair
The wave begins to form midway down the hair shaft and can spiral into ringlets at the ends.
2C Hair
The hair still has predominatly S-waves, but these may spiral into ringlets further down the hair strand.
